The principal activities of the company in the period under review were that of Ironmongers and implement merchants. The subsidiary undertakings affecting the profits or net assets of the group in the year are listed in note 15 to the accounts. There principal activities in the period under review are electrical wholesaling and electrical engineering. The activities of the Group are spread over various business sectors that all contribute to the overall financial performance by way of earnings. Segmental information for group activities by way of turnover are contained in note 3. It is not anticipated that the activities of the group will change significantly in the immediate future. The company intends to maintain its investment portfolio and to retain its market share in Ironmongery.
