The Company's principal activities are the manufacture and conversion of multi-ply paper and board, principally in the electrical and transformer and distribution industry, as well as other speciality markets. The Company saw strong demand for its insulation papers during the year, but performance was severely impacted by the increase in energy costs with the full impact of global price rises felt in 2024 as the previous fixed price contracts ended. The effects of this were partly offset by customer price increases which will continue through 2025. The strategy is to continue to improve production efficiencies on the site so that when energy prices fall to more normal levels the business is well positioned to take advantage of continued strong demand for its products in the coming years.
