The Pride Project Community Interest Company

During our first year of operation, we focused on establishing a welcoming and inclusive community learning space in Manchester. Our activities were designed to make educational and creative opportunities more accessible to people who face barriers to traditional education, including those who are poor, homeless, working class, disabled, racialised, queer, older, and/or parents. Our main activities included: - Lending books from our community library - Hosting film screenings with discussion sessions - Running regular book groups focused on accessible non-fiction and community learning - Organising reading aloud sessions to build confidence and encourage participation among those who might not feel comfortable reading alone Through these activities, we created a supportive, non-commercial environment that encourages learning, exploration, and intercommunal connection outside of formal education systems.
