The Power Of Resilience CIC
Between September 2024 and September 2025, The Power of Resilience CIC continued to strengthen its role as a key community organisation in Tameside, delivering therapeutic, creative, and wellbeing activities for adults, families, and young people affected by trauma, isolation, and financial hardship. The CIC delivered a varied programme of social connection events, weekly arts and crafts groups, and mental health courses, including three additional Living Life to the Full workshops funded by GMCVO. Tameside Council supported the development of a new community garden at Ridge Hill Baptist Church, expanding opportunities for outdoor wellbeing and community engagement. The organisation also continued operating the Thompson Cross 24/7 Community Pantry in Stalybridge and opened a second free to access pantry on Victoria Street in Hyde in partnership with Sunflower Nursery Group, providing stigma‑free, flexible access to essential food while reducing waste and supporting local sustainability. During the same period, the CIC delivered seasonal wellbeing projects, crisis support, and expanded volunteer opportunities. Winter creative workshops offered warmth, connection, and emotional support, while volunteers played a central role in food collections, event delivery, and outreach—gaining confidence, skills, and progression opportunities. The organisation’s impact was formally recognised when it was named Social Enterprise/Charity/CIC of the Year at the 2025 Pride of Tameside Business Awards, reflecting strong community trust and borough‑wide recognition of its contribution. Looking ahead, The Power of Resilience CIC remains committed to expanding inclusive wellbeing programmes, strengthening partnerships, and developing creative, therapeutic, and food‑justice initiatives that build resilience, reduce inequality, and ensure people across Tameside feel supported and connected.
