Social Justice and Human Rights Centre Ltd (‘the company’) was established in May 2011 by Trust for London, The Barrow Cadbury Trust, The Lankelly Chase Foundation, The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust and The Ethical Property Company. The company aims to: • Promote the social justice and human rights movement by providing a building in which organisations can flourish (The Foundry). • Promote mission-related investment by providing a successful vehicle for investors that delivers tangible social impacts and, through its success, increases confidence in and awareness of mission-related investment. The Foundry brings together some of the country’s most innovative and progressive social justice and human rights organisations in ethically managed, affordable premises where they can share ideas, work together, enhance their public profile and improve their ability to engage with and educate the public on social justice and human rights issues. The Foundry provides office space, conference facilities, events and exhibition space, and café facilities to create a destination venue that attracts members of the local community, the wider public and non-tenant organisations. It also acts as a focal point for other activities, both in-person and virtual, which enable The Foundry to make an impact far beyond its physical boundaries.
