SEE SPORTY BE SPORTY CIC has again completed projects in schools, aimed at closing the gender sport gap. These have been expanded to new areas to work with new schools and communities. The See Sporty Be Sporty podcast has continued to be hosted and has now been downloaded over 1,700 times. A project working with nine schools (seven primary and two secondary) in Pontefract was again completed this year, involving 45 girls and culminating in a celebration event attended by headteachers, school staff and a role model athlete. Feedback from participants and schools has again been positive, with areas of excellence including education of girls and school staff around common issues in school gender sport gap areas, and the youth voice aspect of project planning. Plans are again being made for this project to continue next year to further build upon this success. A number of women’s wellbeing walks were hosted through the summer, which attracted new women and built confidence of those involved. A large local project has been launched and part completed with groups of girls from local school communities in Bradford. The project involved research, reporting, pupil voice, youth project creation, and impact, working across 11 local school communities. This is part of a wider two-year project which will grow to impact a larger cohort next year. Impact included confidence building of those involved directly in the project, with resulting indirect impact on many more girls. Feedback was gathered from young people and schools to carry learnings into the second cohort.
