These events facilitated a sense of community for queer people, and included non-alcohol-fueled social events such as book club, board game group, 40+ social, speed dating, speed friending, and craft classes including watercolour painting and textile stitching. At these events, many queer people were able to find and make other queer friends in a safe and welcoming environment.
