Riverlution, in the financial year 2024-25, has now run it's 'River Stewardship partnership' for a second year creating the equivalent of 5 full time 'green jobs' working on conservation and environmental improvement projects in Sheffield and the surrounding area. In addition Riverlution has set up a new partnership covering the Humber Region with plans to match the Sheffield Partnership in scale and impact. This partnership has allowed Riverlution to facilitate 4400 hours of conservation volunteering, delivered 2,513 hours of free training through 'stewardship skills schemes', coppiced almost 2 km of river bank, removed over 115 tonnes of litter and debris from rivers and assisted in the management of invasive species of over 300,000 square metres. The Stewardship Skills Schemes are particularly impactful. Each scheme supports up to & participants in completing qualification and gaining experience to prepare for careers in the environmental sector with a focus on rivers and riparian habitats. A range of smaller habitat projects, volunteer and community events were hosted and facilitated in addition to these main activities producing a total social impact of £1,219,654 for the financial year as measured by Social Value Engine.
