Mondrem Nurture CIC

Mondrem Nurture CIC is a community interest company dedicated to supporting communities by creating fully accessible, outdoor spaces that increase biodiversity by enhancing habitats for wildlife, create volunteering opportunities that encourage community collaboration, promote sustainability and environmental awareness, and improve mental health and wellbeing. We call these spaces ‘Places of happiness’. The Woodmeadow Walk on the Keele University campus was our first ‘Place of happiness’ project. In the year to June 2025, we continued to hold Woodmeadow Walk events for Mondrem Nurture CIC volunteers, for people who live and work on the Keele University campus, and for members of the local community. All came together to share stories, to maintain the wildflower meadow, to sow wildflower seeds, bulbs and hedges, and to install other features that help increase biodiversity and create a beautiful and tranquil space that people want to visit. We have added sustainability-themed craft workshops and events to our activities on the Keele campus. And we identified a new ‘sustainability garden’ site on campus and planned new projects connected with this for which we plan to seek funding from grant funders. We have continued to grow our relationship with Keele University, opening new opportunities on campus. We have also secured new funding from our ‘core’ donor, Mondrem CIC, that will enable us to employ project leads to help deliver a wider range of projects and activities. We have continued to support other off-campus projects in Alsager and are planning new projects in Stoke-on-Trent.
