Marlborough Festival CIC

On 20-22 June 2025 Marlborough Festival CIC held its second annual festival weekend, comprising a mixture of ticketed and free events, in various venues around Marlborough, Wiltshire. There was a comedy show, featuring 3 stand-up comics, with affordable tickets (plus a number of free tickets for locals); a garden party event with headliner Jay Rayner and his sextet, plus a local choir, singer songwriter, a blues/jazz band and DJ. We provided a number (around 30) of free tickets to elderly Marlborough residents, which included a meal and drink. We delivered a free ‘Day Out’ for elderly and isolated residents on the Sunday, comprising singing and brain games, a cream tea with sandwiches, a BFI film screening of Singin’ In The Rain, and a free minibus shuttle, attended by around 65 guests. We delivered a free ‘Sunday chillout’ at the local cinema, with a collective of DJs providing music and vibes. One of our goals in 2025 was to help reduce isolation among elderly Marlborough residents and we worked with the Town Council, Wiltshire Council, and various local care homes to ensure that the events were accessible to as many people as possible. With this in mind, we also organised a Spitfire flypast over the town and a community dog walk during the weekend.
