Leon Grocery Limited

The sole purpose of this entity is to develop a range of LEON branded grocery products to be sold to supermarkets. The company commenced trading in October 2019 under an exclusive supply agreement with Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd. During the year 2022, the exclusivity with Sainsbury's Supermarkets came to an end. As a result of this, the company expanded retailer distribution, agreeing new listings with Asda and Ocado. In 2023 the company saw it further expand its retail distribution, agreeing new listings with Morrisons, Costco and ASDA frozen. A number of successful launches occurred during the year including Micro rice, Beetziki and gift bags . In the year new partnerships were established with Odd Box and Mindful Chef to further enhance the LEON brand image. Leon Grocery Limited was a subsidary withing the UK operations of the overall EG Finco Limited . On May 30, 2023 EG Group announced that it had agreed to sell the majority of its UK and Ireland fuel, foodservices and grocery and merchandise business to Project America Bidco Limited a subsidiary of Bellis Finco PLC, the parent entity of Asda . This transaction completed on the 31 October 2023 .
