Kirklees In Recovery CIC
Financial Year 2024–2025 The directors present their report on the activities of Kirklees in Recovery CIC for the year ended 2025. Principal Activity and Community Interest Statement The company’s principal activity is the provision of peer-led recovery support services for individuals and families affected by substance misuse across Kirklees. The company operates to provide benefit to the community and, in particular, aims to support individuals in recovery by reducing isolation, promoting wellbeing, and creating opportunities for personal development, social inclusion, and sustained recovery. The directors confirm that they have had regard to the guidance issued by the Regulator of Community Interest Companies in determining the activities of the company. Review of Activities During the year, the company strengthened its governance by operating as a Community Interest Company limited by guarantee and formalised its partnership with Change Grow Live (CGL) through a Service Level Agreement, securing service delivery for a further three-year period. The company continued to deliver a range of peer-led recovery support activities across Kirklees, including regular weekly sessions, community events, and family-focused activities aimed at reducing isolation and promoting sustained recovery. These included social groups, seasonal events, and community trips, providing safe, substance-free environments for individuals and their families. The organisation expanded its outreach and partnership work, engaging with local services, criminal justice settings, educational institutions, and community groups to raise awareness of recovery and reduce stigma. In response to identified need, the company introduced additional provision, including a peer-led ketamine support group, which has demonstrated consistent engagement. A community food pantry was also established to support individuals experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers continued to play a key role in service delivery, contributing to the facilitation of activities and peer support. The organisation also supported progression opportunities, with volunteers moving into employment and further development. Public Benefit The directors consider that the activities carried out during the year have provided clear benefit to the community by improving wellbeing, increasing social inclusion, and supporting individuals to sustain recovery and build positive futures. Future Developments The company will continue to develop its services in line with community need and commissioning priorities in the forthcoming year, including the delivery of community activities, outreach work, and opportunities for skills development and progression.
