Jubilee Fields Community Association
The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 January 2026. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019) OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Vision and Mission Our vision and mission are the heart of all that we do along with the continual succession planning to retain existing staff, maintain the centre to a high standard and provide a safe and friendly environment for adults/children/young people and their families to engage in the services and activities the centre has to offer. 2025 has been another strong and productive year for Jubilee Fields Community Centre, as we continue to grow our reach and strengthen our role as a welcoming and well-used hub for the local community. Building on the progress made following our governance and staffing review, we have further strengthened the board this year through the recruitment of a new trustee with specialist expertise in accounting. This has enhanced our financial oversight and supports strong, transparent governance as the organisation continues to develop. Significant activities In response to a continued increase in footfall and demand for services, we have expanded our staff team by appointing two new members of staff. This investment in capacity has ensured that the centre can continue to operate effectively, safely, and responsively for all users. A key achievement this year has been securing funding through the Community Spaces Partnership to improve the long-term sustainability of our building. This funding has enabled us to upgrade our heating system to a more economical and energy-efficient solution, significantly improving comfort while reducing running costs. We are also due to have new windows installed in the coming months, which will further enhance the environmental performance of the building and reduce energy consumption. We were also proud to launch our new Digital Hub, made possible through funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The Digital Hub provides vital support to the local community, helping individuals with job searches, CV writing, online forms, and developing essential digital skills. This work links closely with Durham Learn digital inclusion initiatives, ensuring residents are better equipped to access opportunities and services online. This year also saw the introduction of new youth provision, offering safe, engaging activities and targeted support for young people. These sessions help to build confidence, develop skills, and encourage positive social connections within a supportive environment. A major success has been the launch of the Family Hub, which has filled a long-standing gap in local support for parents and carers. The Family Hub offers advice, peer support, and wellbeing activities, and has already become a valued resource for families within the community. Alongside these developments, our staff and volunteers have continued to deliver a wide range of services that support health, wellbeing, employability, and social connection for people of all ages. Participation remains high, reflecting renewed confidence in community spaces and the relevance of the services we provide.
