Turnover for the group increased to £8,456,905 (2024: £7,098,759). The gross profit for the group was £2,130,278 (2024: £655,048) and the gross margin was 25.2% for the year which was a significant increase from 9.2% in the prior year which was heavily impacted by low margin contracts. The year ended 30 April 2025 was far more similar to the year ended 30 April 2023 in terms of margin. The group faced many challenges typically facing the construction industry in the current year. The directors are confident that these are being successfully managed and overcome by the director and company moving forward. There were a larger number of mid sized contracts in the current year in both John Martin-Hoyes Limited and JMH Directional Drilling Limited which has led to the increased turnover and margin. The group operates in a highly competitive market with continuing pressure on margins. The director continues to monitor our costs and seek operating efficiencies in order to mitigate this risk. The operations of the group are intended to continue as previously. Credit risk The company seeks to manage its credit risk by dealing with established customers or otherwise checking the credit-worthiness of new customers, establishing clear contractual relationships with those customers and by identifying and addressing any credit issues arising in a timely manner. Liquidity risk The company seeks to manage financial risk by ensuring sufficient liquidity is available to meet foreseeable needs and to invest cash assets safely and profitably. Short-term flexibility is achieved by overdraft facilities.
