House Of Rainbow CIC
Overview House of Rainbow continues to be a pioneering faith-based community committed to creating inclusive spiritual spaces for LGBTQI individuals, with a distinct emphasis on people of Black African and Caribbean heritage who experience faith-based and social persecution. Founded on principles of love, inclusion, and reconciliation, the organization remains steadfast in its mission to integrate faith, sexuality, and identity through pastoral care, community support, advocacy, and education. In the past year, House of Rainbow has expanded its impact by strengthening community networks, hosting transformative events, and deepening collaborations with national and international partners. The organization continues to provide a sanctuary for over 300 LGBTQI people of colour, offering holistic care that encompasses spiritual guidance, mental well-being, and access to essential services. Our focus on faith-based inclusion, HIV support, capacity building, and human rights advocacy remains central to our growth and relevance. As the world continues to recover from the challenges of the pandemic, the organization has seen a marked increase in calls for pastoral care, counselling, and emergency assistance—further affirming the need for our work. Achievements and Key Highlights 1. Building Inclusive Faith Communities House of Rainbow continues to nurture a spiritually grounded, affirming community for LGBTQI individuals. Through monthly safe-space meetings and online fellowships, members are encouraged to explore the intersection of faith and sexuality in a non-judgmental environment. The community has become a vital platform for reconciliation, spiritual healing, and collective empowerment for those who often feel excluded from traditional religious institutions. 2. Training and Development Initiatives The organization delivered multiple training sessions in London, Manchester, and Leeds, aimed at empowering members, volunteers, and partner organizations. These workshops addressed themes such as inclusive theology, faith and sexuality, leadership development, and social justice. Special attention was given to resourcing LGBTQI people from African backgrounds and those living with HIV, enabling greater inclusion and representation. 3. HIV Support and Health Interventions Through a combination of retreats, counselling referrals, and wellness workshops, House of Rainbow provided targeted support for People Living with HIV (PLHIV). These activities addressed stigma reduction, spiritual care, and health literacy, ensuring participants could access continuous support and community. Funding stability was achieved to sustain both program delivery and staff welfare. 4. Media and Digital Engagement Significant growth was achieved across digital platforms, with increased online visibility and volunteer engagement. The organization’s website relaunch and sustained social media campaigns enhanced accessibility to information and services. Online programming, including the #AskJide live sessions, contributed to public discourse on HIV, faith, and sexuality, reaching audiences globally. 5. Organizational and Capacity Building The team undertook several professional development sessions covering Financial Planning, Community Organizing, and Networking, contributing to organizational sustainability. These initiatives strengthened our internal systems, governance, and strategic capacity to deliver long-term impact. 6. Human Rights and Advocacy Work House of Rainbow maintained active involvement in advocacy for human rights, sexual health, and social justice, providing direct support to service users experiencing discrimination or seeking redress.
