Our association has actively monitored cases involving the unjust prosecution and imprisonment of journalists, including the Stand News case and the trial of Jimmy Lai and other former staff members at the now defunct Apple Daily newspaper,. At a dark time when our peers in Hong Kong face threats of life imprisonment and the loss of their right to report freely, HKMO has embraced the mission of continuing advocacy from the free nations overseas.
