Heart Domestic Violence Prevention Community Interest Company

In January, February and March 2025 we trained 26 youth workers, pastoral workers and teachers from 13 different schools and youth organisations in how to deliver our healthy relationships programmes to the young boys and girls they work with. We partnered with Blackpool council who coordinated the attendees, provided a venue and support to ensure that the 6 training days ran smoothly and the safeguarding lead for schools will be monitoring the progress of the teachers and workers on their delivery. We received positive feedback from the attendees, and they all commented that with the knowledge they now have, they feel confident in delivering the material to their cohort of young people. All the attendees finished the 6-day training with HEART and Respect facilitator manuals and with a clear line of communication with us should they need and support with delivery. Our mission statement is to provide future generations with the knowledge of how to have safe and happy relationships with themselves, others and the wider community and we feel proud to have trained the attendees, knowing that possibly hundreds possibly thousands of young people will now have access to our programmes. Kelly and Jake Mattison have been delivering directly to young people in high school and with this approach the reach is limited. We are now fulfilling our ambition of extending our reach through training and we feel this is just the beginning.
