Glazing Waves CIC

Glazing Waves CIC operates as a mobile pottery painting service, delivering accessible, creative workshops and sessions across Cornwall. Our mission was to use the therapeutic and social activity of pottery painting to enhance community wellbeing, combat isolation, and promote creative engagement for all ages and abilities. Activities and Community Benefit (Jan 2024 – Jan 2025) The company’s mobile activities and outreach during this period directly provided the following key benefits to the community: - Enhancing Social Inclusion and Accessibility: By operating a mobile service, we brought creative activities directly to local residents, especially benefiting those with impaired mobility, isolated seniors, and families without access to transport. This greatly reduced a significant barrier to participation. - Promoting Mental Wellbeing and Therapeutic Engagement: We facilitated 16 pottery painting workshops in various community settings (care homes, cafes, preschool and charity venues). This provided a much-needed therapeutic and relaxing creative outlet, positively impacting the mental wellbeing of participants. - Supporting Local Organisations: We partnered with 5 small-scale local organisations and charities including, Dwell Cafe (Penryn & Falmouth Foodbank), Georgia’s Voice, Sunrise Cornwall, Joyfuel Cafe and Nancledra Preschool to deliver bespoke sessions designed to meet their goals for inclusion and engagement, strengthening the local support network.
