Folkestone Music Town CIC

A not for profit organisation that amplifies the musical life of our town / region and which brings out talent from people who previously may not have felt engaged by the local music / arts scene. FMT brings together local musicians, businesses and venues to promote our town’s musical life. “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts”. “From string quartets to DJ sets”. “Music in May” is an important community festival organised by the Folkestone Music Town team. 2025 was a break out year for Folkestone Music Town, with over £25,000 received from Arts Council England, on top of previous year funding repeated in 2024 from various local bodies. This enabled FMT to upweight its programme beyond “Music in May” to incorporate various other initiative such as multiple professional workshops and a “Future Sound of Folkestone” programme. We were also able to conduct extensive customer research and build an app for FMT.
