Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) exists to create regenerative and distributive economies that meet the needs of all people within the means of the living planet. We work with changemakers in the UK and worldwide - across communities, education, NGOs, government, and business - to co-create and share brilliant tools that turn the core ideas of Doughnut Economics into irresistible practice. During the financial year 2024-2025, DEAL has benefited the community through the following activities: DEAL continued to share open-access and free to use tools, created both by the DEAL team and by members of the DEAL Community, to equip community members, exam-ples included: the first sets of tools for government and policy makers, and real-world business case studies exploring deep design. Delivered Global Donut Days 2025, a 4 day event where a global community created more than 90 events across 45 cities in 25 countries with participation from more than 5,000 people. We continue to work with our local organisers to sustain and deepen re-lationships. We continued to host multiple spaces for shared learning and co-creation via webinars, online co-creation events and physical events, for teachers, activists, community groups and policy makers. These all supported changemakers worldwide to connect, learn from each other and further co-create, implement, and iterate tools. We continue to support DEAL’s Schools and Education community, taking part in events as well as delivering talks, teaching sessions, and learning workshops, across secondary-school institutions and organisations. Continued to engage with ambitious regional and national governments that want to use the ideas of Doughnut Economics to envision a new future for their nations and to reshape political narratives and policies. We continued with the Global Donut Days (GDD) fund, distributing ~£50K to 21 local groups. This provided funding to directly support local groups organising to participate in GDD, addressing a key barrier for some.
