Design Nature CIC

In our 4th year, Design Nature’s activities were primarily concerned with the continued design, delivery and impact measurement of the Clean Air Living Matters:Exploring Reading Schools STEAM (Science technology Engineering Art Maths) project on Air Quality. Alongside this, we continued relationships and in-kind support for a local Schools Social Enterprise project and further designed, developed and delivered a ReDesigners Reading project with Design & Technology secondary students. Directors were also engaged in their voluntary capacity as Design Council Experts, feeding into their development of a Skills for the Planet blueprint. Particularly in linking with educating and upskilling 1 million designers in Green Skills (something that has always been at the heart of Design Nature’s work) HEADLINES Over the year we worked with over 4600 young people directly in creative and technical sustainability and entrepreneurship skills, increasing knowledge and awareness. We continued collaboration with several local organisations and schools, including Stantec, University of Reading, Reading Borough Council and numerous local schools. Primary sustainability topics explored and designs undertaken, included Air Quality, Waste in and litter around schools, exploring Circular Economy and behaviour change and skills and insight into Social Entrepreneurship
