Cornwall And Devon Creative Collective CIC
Company activities and impact Operational Highlights & Activities during 1st Year Despite being a fledging organisation, CORNWALL AND DEVON CREATIVE COLLECTIVE CIC (CoDeCC) has already established a vibrant and visible presence in Plymouth and the South-West (in person, online via its website https://www.codecc.co.uk ,on the radio and via social media) via its initiation, facilitation and co-creation of successful community-based events and partnerships with local organisations. During the period May 2024-May 2025, CoDeCC events included: - the CoDeCC Launch and Networking event (May 2024) at Oxford House during which Caribbean food and drinks were shared with the Plymouth and Cornwall communities - the inauguration of CoDeCC Black History Month Film Festival in partnership with Plymouth Arts Cinema (October 2024); - the initiation and facilitation of the ‘Blurring Boundaries’ photography, film and cookery event (May 2025) at Leadworks funded by Plymouth City Council; - participation on Janner Radio to discuss music, current affairs and themes relevant to Global Majority in the SW. During this period, CoDeCC also successfully applied to Plymouth Council’s Recovery Fund and the government’s Windrush in the Far South-West fund, an 18-month research project focused upon the Southwest’s connections with the Windrush Generation. Vision & Engagement CodeCC’s overarching vision celebrates creativity across music, writing, food, film, dance, workshops, and events, with a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusivity, and cultural heritage in the Southwest. Strategic Outlook This inaugural year has laid the groundwork for CodeCC’s mission to nurture creative expression and community engagement. Key focus areas moving forward include: - Expanding inclusive, culturally rich programming - Strengthening partnerships with regional arts, education, Local Council and funding bodies Conclusion As CoDeCC evolves beyond its first year, we remain optimistic about our potential to enrich Cornwall and Devon’s creative ecosystem. We are poised to build momentum, deepen our impact, and sustain cultural vibrancy in the communities we serve.
