Centre Of Research In Just Transitions CIC

The company was founded in February 2024 with the purpose of conducting research on the challenges of ensuring that a transition towards a sustainable society and economy does not leave anyone behind. A second objective was to foster education and research on sustainability and the circular economy even through doctoral students. The resources initially available were very scarce. The founding director has implemented a fund raising plan through seeking donations and a search of commercial income. The means of seeking commercial income included: 1) sales of services to commercial organizations (successful). 2) participation to a tender by the Scottish authority (unsuccessful). CRIJT has also bid for a grant from the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Foundation, this unfortunately was not successful. In summary, the activities CRIJT performed included very valuable foundational research, pro-bono educational services and also paid for educational services. An objective that CRIJT did not manage to accomplish in this accounting period is the sales of contract research. This is a primary objective for the next accounting period.
