Butterfly Beacons Community Interest Company
The CIC started in 2020. During the financial year 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025, Butterfly Beacons continued to provide opportunities for people within the local community to connect with others, develop creative skills, build confidence and support their emotional wellbeing. Our Crafty Coffee offer continued to provide a welcoming and informal space for people to meet others, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation. Through creative activities, shared skills and lived experiences, participants were able to learn new crafts, develop friendships and build confidence. Where appropriate, members were also signposted to local community services and sources of support. Our Creative Circle continued to provide a regular opportunity for women and families to come together through creativity, conversation and shared experiences. During the year, the Friday Creative Circle moved to Elliot Hall in South Wigston, providing a more established community base where members could continue to develop creative skills, build supportive relationships and contribute to their local community. During the financial year, Butterfly Beacons delivered and participated in a range of community events and activities, alongside our regular Creative Circle and community singing sessions and the continued use of Rosa, our community bus. We provided and supported the following activities: • December 2024 – South Wigston Christmas Capers, Menphys/Elliot Hall: We pro-vided free family craft activities and supported a community craft fair, creating opportuni-ties for local families to participate in creativity and connect with others within their community. • January 2025 – Creative Circle moved to Elliot Hall, South Wigston: We relocated our Friday Creative Circle to Elliot Hall, providing a regular community space where women could come together, develop creative skills, share experiences and build sup-portive relationships. • March 2025 – Women’s Circle Celebration Event, Elliot Hall, South Wigston: We brought women together through a shared celebration, supporting connection, friend-ship, confidence and emotional wellbeing. • March 2025 – VE Day Event, Elliot Hall, South Wigston: We supported a community event which provided opportunities for local people to come together, participate in cre-ative activities and celebrate collectively. • April 2025 – Free Easter Crafts Event, Elliot Hall, South Wigston: We delivered free family craft activities, providing an inclusive opportunity for families to be creative to-gether and engage with their local community. • June 2025 – Rosa Interior Refurbishment: Staff and volunteer members worked to-gether to complete an interior refurbishment of Rosa, our community bus.
