STATUS, OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES Barnsley & District Citizens Advice Bureau (Citizens Advice Barnsley/CAB) is a company limited by guarantee, registered number 4649873, and has no share capital. At 31 March 2025 there were 9 members and each member has guaranteed to contribute an amount not exceeding £1 in the event of the winding up of the company. The company is a registered charity, number 1097422. The organisation is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority FRN: 617498. The company is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association which outline the objects and powers of the charitable company. Under the company's Articles of Association, one third of the Trustees retire by rotation at the AGM and are eligible for re-election. The organisational objectives are to: Provide free, confidential advice to help people overcome their problems and campaign on big issues when their voices need to be heard. Although a member of the Citizens Advice network, CAB is an independent local charity that offers impartial, independent advice which is accredited by the Advice Quality Standard (AQS).
