The following Directors have held office since 1 April 2024: Andrew Freeman Nicola Redsell Steve Leach As a board in 2024/25 we developed a new five year business plan which is now in action. The plan looks to grow the business, stabilise finances and its future and develop five key missions for the coming year. Our five community missions focus on the good we want to do around mental health and wellbeing. We exist to make a tangible difference and so these missions reflect our community impact for the next five years. Firstly we will work to promote & practice a holistic approach to wellbeing both in recovery and in a preventative capacity. We want to help people increase their wellbeing, working holistically with lots of options available for people so they feel empowered in their own recovery journey, setting us apart from services who might place labels and diagnoses on individuals and place them on a one-route waiting list. We want to practice this and influence others, so a holistic approach is put at the forefront of delivery. Secondly we want to work to make wellbeing simple. To enable the navigation of and understanding of a mental health challenge simpler, more understandable, more relatable and more manageable for everyday people. Thirdly we want to break down barriers and confront inequalities in mental health and wellbeing provision, ensuring lasting change comes into effect. Forthly we want to develop better support for people at the end of primary and secondary care when they are discharged. This moment of ending support has inequalities, confusions and places anxiety on people. We will work to demystify and support the process of rebuilding after a mental health challenge or crisis and help people move forward into the next phase of their lives. Lastly we aim to champion partnership within the VCSE sector and with our NHS colleagues. We want to work in partnership, campaign at a national level for a greater voice and involvement for the VCSE in mental health provision, practice genuine co-production and partnered decision making and ultimately use our voice and power and to make a difference in the renewal of the NHS. Alongside our directors, Space to Breathe has developed informal advice networks as with local businesses and VCSE networks. We also work together with a team of practitioners and meet regularly with them to develop our business and strategy.
