South London Urban Growers CIC coordinates food growing community garden and nature-based education projects in south London across four different gardens and community centres. During the financial year our activity have benefitted the community in the following ways: - Diverted approximately 150 cubic meters of green waste from local business away from land fill or costly disposal into our community composting scheme to create compost for local growing projects - engaged 120 members of the local community as participants and volunteers in our 3 food growing projects where we have provided weekly practical sessions on topic such as food growing, composting, biodiversity, woodwork, regenerative landscape design, agroforestry and permaculture. - delivered over 40 separate workshops, volunteer days and gardening sessions as an organisation in the accounting year - continued to transform 3 neglected and unused pieces of public land and one communal space at a community centre into vibrant, productive and biodiverse spaces for community growing, education and nature
