Lambeth Portuguese Wellbeing Partnership CIC

During the financial year period, LPWP delivered the following projects aiming to reduce health inequalities of disadvantaged and ethnic minority groups and increase their health and wellbeing: Free of charge Helpline, providing information in English and Portuguese, signposting people, and working with Trussell Trust to provide food parcels to those in need. The line is funded by Age UK. Completed the Cervical Screening project, working with Portuguese and Spanish communities to understand the barriers that people face to attend cervical screening after being invited to participate, and how to best address these to ensure that people are empowered to come forward for cervical screening as well as advising their friends and families of the benefits of the programme. Funded by SELCA- NHS. Completed the Household Model Phase IV, working with Portuguese-speaking households to develop their capabilities to take an active role in managing, maintaining and improving their wellbeing. Households were invited to engage in seven sessions where members of the team facilitate activities that were designed to be creative, fun and relaxed. Funded by Impact on Urban Health and Stockwell Being PCN. Completed the Portuguese Culture and Diversity in Lambeth, supporting local Portuguese speakers affected by long-term health conditions to access different social and cultural activities, volunteering opportunities, information and services to their wellbeing (health information, ESOL classes, physical activities, welfare benefit and debt management support). Funded by The London Community Foundation – Lambeth. Also, to ensure the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of the organisation, LPWP initiated a process of restructuring the organisation during the financial year period. This involves adjusting our governance structure, our roles and our resources to current dynamics.
