Kington Youth Hub Community Interest Company

The Kington Youth Hub Community Interest Company (KYH) operates to address the need for a dedicated meeting space foryoung people in and around Kington (Herefordshire). Kington has been without a dedicated meeting space for young people sincethe closure of the youth club run by Herefordshire Council in 2011. Members of the community and the young people themselves identified that the need for a youth space and activities was a pressing one.The aim of KYH is to put in place activities that will directly benefit local young people (10-18) providing them with opportunities andenabling them to be active members of the community. The young people will be integral to the provision of the youth hub as well as beneficiaries of it. KYH's objectives are developing in response to the identified needs but include: - Providing an opportunity for young people to come together to learn and share skills with each other in a dedicated space. - Preventing isolation and increasing communication with young people and between young people and other members of thecommunity. - Meeting the young people’s needs and signposting to external services when required. - Giving young people the opportunity to shape the space and the activities within it.
