G(End)Er Swap CIC

In this financial year G(end)er Swap provided expanded initiatives to support the LGBTQ+ community across the UK. We maximised the level of support offered to the community by delivering a dynamic five month long programme that supported gender-diverse individuals with makeup support (resources, tutorials, a new zine, community events and free products). We delivered style and makeup workshops this year in London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Southampton, York and more. We expanded our network to include collaborations with LGBT+ creatives based in the UK as a recipient of a grant from LGBT+ Consortium. This financial year we focused on supporting gender-diverse people experiencing housing and financial precarity with tailored support services for self expression offered at The Outside Project (LGBTQ+ homeless shelter). We also massively expanded our curation of online digital resources for our social media platforms and website to support physically isolated LGBT+ people across the UK. Lastly, we expanded our printed resources to include a new makeup zine to support LGBTQ+ people with makeup inspiration and advice. We expanded our activities to collaborate with creative and academic institutions leading us to set up style exhibitions at Kings College London and the Live Nation Headquarters in London as well. Our unique and impactful work this year has been covered by large press platforms including DAZED Beauty, The Grey Zine and Fashion Clash Festival. This has led us to receiving more offers for in kind support to keep our initiatives running.
