BACP is a registered charitywith the Charity Commission and incorporatesBACP Enterprises Ltd, its wholly owned subsidiary.BACP is a charitable, not-for-profit organisationwhich means our funds are used to maintain anddevelop the organisation for the benefit of ourmembers and the communities in which we areactive. The objectives of BACP are to promote andprovide education and training for counsellorsand/or psychotherapists working in eitherprofessional or voluntary settings, whether full orpart time, with a view to raising the standards ofthe counselling professions for the benefit of thecommunity and in particular for those who are therecipients of counselling and/or psychotherapy;and to inform and educate the public about thecontribution that the counselling professionscan make generally and particularly in meetingthe needs of those whose participation anddevelopment in society is impaired by physical orpsychological health needs or disability.The Association has the power to do anythingwhich is calculated to further its objectives oris conducive or incidental to doing so. Our incomecomes principally from membership subscriptions,income from the trading subsidiary, BACPEnterprises Ltd, and Find a Therapistdirectory fees.The related party transactions are disclosed inNote 17 to these financial statements.
