Researching historical women’s activism in Scotland, focusing on suffrage activists, and encouraging and facilitating others to do the same (through archival research, public talks and events, online content creation and collaboration). We developed a detailed plan for our organisational development over the next five years, focusing on the upcoming Centenary of the Equal Franchise Act (which gave women and most men across the UK the right to vote) in 2028. We worked to expand our network of organisations and prospective partners, focusing on Scotland-wide connectivity and Centenary planning. We developed a detailed business plan for 2025-29, and submitted funding applications to develop our staffing capacity and improve our organisational resilience. All of these activities will increase our ability to serve communities across Scotland, and those in Govan and Glasgow. We started a Newsletter in February, sharing our archival research, developing merchandise, and creative projects with a growing database of subscribers. We developed and delivered a workshop focused on women's empowerment at Glasgow University in collaboration with My Academic Family. Titled 'Unleashing the Suffragette Spirit', the workshop was funded by GSEN as a pilot. We delivered Community Consultation in Govan regarding new Govan Mural on Govan Road by Jeks, 'Reimagining Mary Barbour'. We also provided Yardworks and Jeks with research on Mary Barbour which influenced the final mural design. We hosted creative poster-making workshops focusing on local suffrage activists and other women changemakers in Govan (with community groups) and Finneston (for Yardworks Festival). Workshops were co-creation sessions where designs were developed with local people for three new mini-murals on electrical boxes, commissioned by Yardworks. We brought our Suffragette Stall activities to Glasgow Science Centre for International Women’s Day in March. We continued creating and selling (trading, through our online shop) dynamic, high-quality educational materials and merchandise which is focused on raising the profile of historical women’s activism in Scotland. We expanded our range to include more types of merchandise in our shop over this period. We began selling our merchandise B2B (wholesale) as a pilot. We continued to host guest speakers, and also give talks on Scotland’s Suffrage history.
