Bright Impact CIC
1) Design and deliver creative methods workshops for people working for voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises (VCSEs). In September 2024, we delivered a free online webinar as an ‘Introduction to creative methods’ webinar to 35 people. In January 2025, we delivered a free online webinar for members of the Charity Evaluation Working Group, 90 attendees. Delivered a Creative Methods Programme for people working in the third sector to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence using creative evaluation methods. 6 participants - including one free space to a neurodivergent individual. 2) Run peer support support programmes to help people working for and with VCSEs integrate creative methods in their work. Hosted free 5 Brunch Clubs, small informal gatherings of evaluators interested in and / or using creative methods. 48 participants signed up 30+ organisations represented Countless cups of tea & coffee We covered topics ranging from how creative methods can overcome survey fatigue to trauma-informed approaches (including looking after ourselves). Creating these peer learning spaces helps people feel more confident using creative methods and has wider benefits for use of more accessible and inclusive methods in evaluation practice. 3) Provide tailored consultancy support around the use of creative evaluation methods to VCSEs. Designed and delivered the evaluation of Breathing Space project- engaged 8 young people in the evaluation of Breathing Space, delivered basic training in creative research methods, and supported them to create their own accessible evaluation outputs, targeted at a wider range of audiences than traditional longer evaluation reports - see here for videos (https://www.togetherforchildren.org.uk/breathingspacevideo). Worked with Lady Power House to design an evaluation of their HerStory Campaign - we offered free coaching as part of this support to develop their confidence using creative methods and telling their story. The approach was designed to not only help them improve thor offer, but also help them attract additional funding and support. 4) Work with colleges and universities to provide training and opportunities for people not typically represented in the VCSE sector Whilst we didn’t deliver any training directly to colleges or universities this year, we made contacts with various organisations to be explored next year. In addition to this, we provided training to a group of neurodivergent young people who work as Young Commissioners for Together for Children (a statutory service) to help them develop their research knowledge and skills - the young people then put these skills into practice, facilitating focus groups and interviews with their peers.
