The principal activity of the company is BD Management Services (BDMS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Barking and Dagenham Trading Partnership Ltd (BDTP – trading as BD Group). BDMS is responsible for delivering a repairs and maintenance service to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham for its housing stock of approximately 18,000 properties and its corporate buildings. These services are delivered under contracts awarded directly through the Teckal exemption under public procurement rules. Services include reactive and responsive repairs, delivery of certain elements of the capital programme of improvements to the housing stock, voids, and statutory compliance services. BDMS also directly manages the Council’s in-house Direct Labour Organisation workforce, although its employment remains with LBBD.
